Htx8500 and Apple TV, no Atmos?

I have Apple TV, it’s set to output Dolby Atmos. It’s connected to HTX8500 by Monster High Speed HDMI with Ethernet. We’re watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 via Disney App. It says it’s in Dolby Vision and Atmos. Dolby Vision is working but the Atmos light isn’t on the sound bar, suggesting Atmos isn’t playing? Any ideas?

PS, Atmos works fine when streaming from TV to sound bar on Netflix Altered Carbon.

Hi there,

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Best wishes,

Hi,

How would I know?

On my old HT-XT3 it was easy as there was a menu/interface.

What is the process for the htx8500?

Thank you

You can switch between sound effects by holding the Vertical S. button on your remote for 5 seconds and each of the supported effects' indicator will light for 2 seconds to indicate that it's turned on, or all of them will light together for 3 seconds to indicate that there are no sound effects enabled.

Having said all that, I don't think Atmos is disabled since it does work and the indicator lights up while watching Netflix, so it's either the connection between the Apple TV and sound bar or the Disney app itself, if your TV has support for eARC, try connecting the Apple TV to your TV set directly instead. Otherwise, maybe contact Disney before trying anything else I'd say.
