Recently the soundbar has been annoying me quite a lot, because I often lose my settings.
I realise it whenever easy setup is greeting me when I wanna do something using the GUI of the soundbar. Weird part is, not all settings will be reverted back to standard! For example, the HDMI ports stay enhanced, also the secured connection to the sub doesn't change. But most of the other stuff, like DRC, distance settings, chromecast setup and so on will be lost and has to be setup again.
Last monday I did a factory reset and configured everything from scratch. Yesterday evening I had the issue again. Used firmware: M40.R.0444
Did anybody experience the same behaviour using this soundbar?
Hi Bisuko-chan,
We will look into this and get back to you when we find out more.
Maybe some other members can advise you until then.
Best wishes,
Ed
Thx a lot! I hope the issue will be resolved soon
Hi Bisuko-chan,
I'll forward this to my Sony contact in the hopes of finding an answer.
I'll let you know when I hear back about this.

Hi Bisuko-chan
I got a reply. It seems that the best option to get this resolved would be to have the sound bar checked at one of the Sony Service Centres.

Hi Win_88
Unfortunately I'm based in Switzerland. Are there Sony Service Centers here as well?
So you suggest this could be a hardware issue, rather than software? I still have warranty till November 2019.
Cheers
Hi again,
Unfortunately, I only speak English, so I'm not sure if I have the right link but I think I do:

At first I thought it was a software issue, but since you the issue doesn't get fixed with an update or a reset, there's not much more you can try as a user.

I contacted the service center here in Switzerland, but they also told me this sounds like a software issue. Especially the fact that not all the settings are getting lost.
I wonder if it has something to do with the latest firmware update and the addition of eARC. I own the soundbar for almost 2 years now and the problems started at the beginning of this year.
I also asked about this issue in other forums and there are people who experience this as well: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/195-soundbars/2703313-sony-7-1-2-dolby-atmos-soundbar-ht-st5000-78.ht...
Did you ever get any resolution to this problem. One of our (2) ST5000 just started exhibiting this exact same issue. Biggest problem is that it no longer talked to our home automation to turn the soundbar on, once it is on all is good, but the network reset seems to be the problem.
Hoping you found a solution.
Unfortunately never found a solution for it and still plagued by it to this day. But I found countless others on other forums who have the exact same problem!!
Basically I think Sony abandoned the support for this great piece of hardware. I learnt my lesson and won't buy from Sony anymore in the future.
