Sony HT-XF9000 Wall Recess

Hi

I resently bought the Sony HT-XF9000 sound bar to accomany my sony TV. The idea is to wall mount the TV and recess the sound bar in to the wall (see example pic). I dont think the sound bar has upward facing speakers, but i wanted to check that by recessing the sound bar that it wont affect the sound quality.

The alternative will be to put it on a shelf, but im after the sleek moden look 

Any advice would be greatly appreciate

I guess placing it too far inside might affect the surround sound of the soundbar.
