Sony KD49XF7002ABU - connecting a sound bar through an optical cable

Hi all,

I have bought a soundbar ( https://majority.co.uk/products/ben-nevis-ii/), I know not the greatest but a starter one.

I have connected through the tv with an optical cable, and i believe I have changed the setting to PCM, but all I get through the soundbar is a hum and not the sound of what is playing through the tv (i can still hear this thorugh my tv speakers).

Does anyone have any advice on what to do and maybe the correct settings i need?

Hi mjaanensen,

Congrats! Have you made sure that the sound output is set to (Audio system)? You'll find this in the Setup menu of the TV.
