[Master Thread] - SEN Apps Disappeared

I have a Sony Bravia Smart TV, KDL-40W605B model. Today all the APPS have disappeared. I have checked internet, it;s fine. But I have rebooted the HUB, still no APPS. I have checked the internet connection on TV, all OK. I have restored to fctory settings. Still no APPS, In fact, I have now lost the BBC I Player APP that I actually DID have before the restore. How can I get the APPS Back. I have only had Amazon Prime for three weeks and now I can't watch it!

Hi there

Can you check to see if your IP address is UK based, as this is needed for iPlayer etc.  Goto:  https://www.iplocation.net/

If so, can you do a 'Refresh Internet Content' on your TV:

Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] → [Network] → [Refresh Internet Content].

Do you have other apps like YouTube or a Web Browser - these should not disappear (i believe).  What happens when you go into them and say play a video from YouTube?

Cheers

Hallo

KDL-50W828B, software 3.004EUA

Apps disappeared the other day.

I have tryed to reset the TV to new and have cheked my internet connection and IT is fine.

How do I get my apps back?

IT is mainly my Netflix I want back, but also my Danish television app DR TV.

Hi All

I am using this as a 'master thread' because there seems to be a wide-spread problem with SEN.  I will report this to Sony and get them to investigate and resolve immediately.

If/When I receive updates I will post back to the forum.

Thank you

How do I check the IP address? I'm based in the UK. I did a factory reset yesterday after switching off HOme Hub and unplugging the TV and DVDS players etc.

I do have some SONY specific icons (Photos is one) on there but no TV or streaming  based apps. No web browser, no You Tube. I have repeatedly refreshed internet connection and still no apps.

Hi @Pawsden

You can check the location of your IP address by going to the following website on a computer:

https://www.iplocation.net/

However I am unsure on what is truely going on at the moment - If it was a true widespread problem, I would expect to see more complaints about this by now.  Saying that though, there does 'seem' to be a problem for some people at the moment.

Cheers

And the APPS I have are Playstation, Memories, Photo, something called Screen mirror. Never used or heard of any of them. I raised a ticket yesterday 15753836. Not heard back though.
