Hi All,
I've only had my TV a few months and have experienced Netflix freezing quite often. It seems to be happening when opening the app or when browsing. Anyone else seeing this? Any solutions?
Additional rant:
I spoke to a Sony rep in currys before purchasing this TV, as I had reservations about the non android OS. According to him, though basic, the non android OS was supposed to be less buggy and smoother to use. I have to say, in comparison to my other smart tv (Samsung), the software on this TV has been quite disappointing - laggy / slow. Also, the sound on this tv is shocking...bass is non existent.
Try fetching the latest updates for all apps (under Settings - System Settings - Set-up - Network - Refresh Internet Content). If that doesn't work, update your TV to the latest version (v8.902).

You can’t add apps to Linux TVs like this one; what they come with is all you ever get 😢
Also, the itv Hub’s days are numbered, and it is being replaced by itvX.
But the timing of your query is perfect; Black Friday is upon us, and Amazon Firesticks and Roku streamers are well discounted at the moment. Buy one of these, and plug it into a spare HDMI input on the TV, and you will have access to up to date versions of every app that matters, and countless others that don’t that cater for niche tastes.
The contention will cause this on your broadband speed. You need to upgrade the speed of the internet conection.
