Hi
Since the 10+ years old non-flat screen TV broke down just after Christmas we bought our first flat screen TV. We have Virgin cable. Sadly we're struggling to set it up properly i.e. the picture is pretty poor (annoyingly the picture quality was better on the old TV...).
We're followed the set up suggested in the manual and done it several times (scart only connected, then scart + coxial and finally coxial only) but it still is really poor. Since after paying some 400 GBP for it we really don't feel like we should have to pay for assistance via the Sony 0845 number but now really are tempted to simply return it, any suggestions, tips and/or ideas? If so, would be extremely appreciated.
Luckily the return police is good 🙂

Solved! Go to Solution.
The best way of connecting is via a HDMI cable. This will give you much better picture quality.
Hi
First, thanks for your swift reply. Really appreciate it and especially since we fell totally lost here.
However, we've now bought a HDMI cable and tried to set the TV up again with it attached (assume it should be 'analogue' and 'cable' when having a normal Virgin box and service) - sadly there's no improvement or change i.e. the picture is really poor.
Any other suggestions/ideas?

Hi, just to check....you only have the HDMI cable connected between the 2? Make sure the SCART is unplugged. You will have to use your tv remote to switch to the HDMI connection.
