80Gb or 100Gb

Having recently bought a sony fs215z i noted that the hard disk total is 80Gb and not the advertised 100Gb.

Having called the sony center guys who sold me the system, I was told this is rigth????? Is it though thought I paid for 100Gb

Anyone know if this is rigth or have I been done in by false advertising.

hi Emkay,

well that sounds really strange, and to be honest, i cvan only see two reasons for your problem.

1. You do NOT have a FS215Z
2. You are not counting possible pertitions in (there could be some space on the HDD reserved for HDD recovery)

Could you please check those two points and get back?

Thanx

out of 100G HDD.. 7G is used for hidden partition, then some 1-2G will be lose for making C: and 😧 partitions.. and by the it is not really 100G, the total should be around 95G.. so you should had around 85+G useable HDD space..

LOL my friend's nickname is emkay too....

I have to agree with Eugene, it's probably 100GB which when formatted is like 93GB - 7GB of hidden partition

thanks kee-lo,eugenepang and clubuser

well checking the total size my c:is 27.9 and d: is 58.2 .

If you say i've lost the rest coz of pertitions i can live with it aslong as i do have a 215z.

as for your friend being emkay i'm gutted i thought i was unique.

cheers
