VAIO VGN-S3XP
Win XP Pro SP2
I have a problem with a SanDisk Cruiser Mini 1gb memory stick which worked fine on my previous IBM Thinpad but which hangs with a blank screen on boot on my VAIO.
If I let the system come up without the memory stick and then insert it the VAIO recognises it OK.
I asked SanDisk what the problem might be and they gave me instructions which can't be set up using the F2 key to enter the Bios at boot.
They have told me to contact Sony to find out how to do this.
My question is ...
Is there a more advanced bios setup option that I should be using to comply with their suggested solution which is pasted below?
Many thanks in advance

I enter my bios setup via F2 and there is no such options on any of the screens? ----------------your instructions were--------------- Please make sure your computer BIOS settings are disabled to detect legacy USB devices and enabled to detect USB devices at startup.
The option that you are trying to access is locked out by Sony. There are very few options that you actually can access, in the Bios, on a Vaio.
There are utilities out there to bypass locked options in the Bios but I would not recommend this course of action unless you really do know what you are doing.
Otherwise you need to contact Sony to see if there is a work around.
OK Rich thanks. I'll contact Sony
