Looked via google for help it says to delete some files via regedit, still dead. If I was to get a new one and install, which one can I get which is cheap? Any other options?....Vaio Model is VGN-CS16G, it is an asian model.

Hi rob619,

It would probably cost even more for a new part so it’s your choice

You can of course try anything at your own risk but unless it is a gloss finish and the scratches are very thin you will be wasting your time. Plus if I were to attempt this as an ‘all duck or no dinner’ solution I would try a mild liquid cutting compound such as Brasso – first tried on an inconspicuous part of the casing.

I think ill give it a miss and live with the scratches, as this may cause more damage! Seems to be designed more for metal products, thanks anyways.
