Well I have looked and tried, it does not work, what a shame, there must be a way to do this, can anyone help. It is by the way a nikon coolpics 4300.
If you have to install drivers for the camera to be recognized under Windows XP it will not work. This has to do with the standard that is used which is called USB OTG (on the Go). This is a latter extension which is only two years old or so, camera's older tha that or that have not been developed for this standard will not work (these camera's can't use pictbridge or PTP as well for example).
So if you want to transfer the images use a cardreader. Any modern reader complying to the USB massstorage device standard should work fine.
As this is an USB 1.1 connection it will be a slow process though.
