FS115B XP Discs

Hi all

Quick question...should I have a Window XP disc with my Vaio FS115B Laptop ?...I'm searching around to see if I have one or not...I must be honest and say I can't remember ever seeing one when I bought my lappy a few months ago..all the excitement of getting it, I never noticed

I didn't. By right I should have. I believe if you need XP stuff it is in your recovery disc. I was looking for the backup program that hadn't been installed and I found it through looking at the folders in the F drive in my computer or if you are looking for something that is missing do it via the start>programs>control panel>add/remove programs.

I'm sure someone else could give a better answer though.

Ahh..I presume you mean the Recovery disc that my vaio has been nagging me to create ever since I had my lappy

I think I better go do that now as I just had a minor scare when I tried updating the Video driver (mobile Intel Media Accelerator)..I got a "could not display data string" message when I tried to change the display settings...after much sweating I have installed an old driver which seems to have it back to normal.

Yep that be the one. I have an older model and I got the recovery disc with the computer.

Better to be safe than sorry!

Check at Vaio-Link download area for your model to make sure that you have any updates that may be available for the recovery disk burning software.

Most people will recommend that you create yourself two or three sets of recovery disks and stash them away safely.
