OK so SS3.1 was OK, it did the job best out of all the SS updates. So now I thought I'd take the plunge and go with SS3.2, thought they had sorted out the initialise player and then wham my player needs to be initialised to work with this version !!!
ARGHHHHH, for feck sakes Sony should sort out this SonicSh!t once and for all. I am not interested in losing another 3,800+ songs yet again which have been painfully ripped from CD. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get some decent coders/software for this device, I know for certain when this VAIO dies then the Sony brand has no chance of creeping back into my ownership...
Firstly,
SS 3.2 has not been created souly for the VAIO Player and If you notice it has not been even released in the EU.
Always read and learn about software before you upgrade, from your post I now know not to upgrade
I did my research you do yours.

GAH and rolling back to the 3.1 still doesn't recognise my VAIO, feck sakes I guess I won't be adding anymore songs to my VAIO now. Yes I shouldn't have dived in with the new version but rolling back to 3.1 I should not be having this problem !!!
It happenned to me when I upgraded from 2.3 to 3.1.
I've learned. I have SS 3.1 in 2 computers so if I screw it up, I have the other one. And from one correct and working installation of SS with your VP, you can authorize other computers to access to your VP.
I have 6.000 songs and almost 30Gb used. I'm not gonna lose them again. SS is so crap...
Also, some of the albums are from a MP3 source because SS3.1 doesn't import copyrighted albums (Coldplay last album, for example) so I can't put them back in my computer.... and I have the original album!!!!!!!!!!!
Sony is terrible for stuff like these...

Oh Man If this would happen to me i go Nuts
I keep my library well organized and with SS this seems to be a very big problem
i've brought my Vaio back to the store because the soft and firmware sucks and I kept my Creative Zen Nx 30Gb
Sony VAIO pocket = BEAUTY WITH NO BRAINS

Here Is some advice.
Use SS for what It Is intended for and that is transfering music and album covers to the player.
If your after something which will organize your music better then use Windows Media Player v.10
SS is not crap its just not flexibal.period!
