Incomptability somewhere - please advise

Hello. I use two free chat programmes in my work as educator in virtual theatre: iVisit video conferencing software, and the Palace 2D graphic/sonic software. I have a new Sony VAIO PCG V505CP, and am using an Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem. My laptop crashes whenever I have BOTH these apps running simultaneously (I thought initially it was the modem, or maybe the cam, but no, when I close one application, the other doesnt crash my machine.) So this is a memory allocation problem right? I hear that some laptops steal bandwidth. Is that what is happening here? If so, how can I steal it back??? Many thanks in advance for any help. i dont think your laptos is causingthe problem, maybe conflict between 2 devices, so navigate through the relevant hardware support page as well as the microsoft website, if this does not solve the problem you simply get different moden, perhaps its time to go wirele  ss

Go to www.speedtouch.co.uk and download the latest driver for the USB modem.
If you have SP1 - you definately need the newer drivers.
