Hi all
Can anybody tell me if memory upgrades have to be the expensive Sony memory or can you use third party memory such as crucial with the following spec and not invalidate my warranty?
Module Size: 512MB
Package: 200-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR PC2700
Configuration: 64Meg x 64
DIMM Type: UNBUFFERED
Error Checking: NON-ECC
Speed: 333
SDRAM Timings: CL=2.5
Specs: DDR PC2700 • CL=2.5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR333 • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64
You can use cruicial memory, and if you are worried about warranty, and u have a problem, just take the extra modules out when u send it off
Yep. Just means you can't sell the old ones on eBay because you need to put them back in if it gets sent off. It's basically a scam to get you to be ripped off buying Sony RAM, there's nothing unsafe about Crucial or other major brands whatsoever.
Crucial RAM has a very good rep in the IT world
