I have the same problem with the same laptop. i have tried using CD-Rs and CD+RWs at the moment, neither seem to work. Tried many different types of software but none work. I am just updating my drivers to see if that helps. Apart from that i havent got a clue. My disks cost me £40 so i am praying i can get it working.

Hi,
I haven`t got an answer either at the moment. This is an area I am not so familiar with. Here are a few checks to make.

1. Check CD/DVD Drive in Device Manager for "Yellow" errors.

2. Check for "Red" errors in Event Viewer. If you find one double click it and note down the Error Number and Source. Post them back.

3. Do not use any drivers from MS. Make sure they are all from manufacturer. If the problem started after updating a driver for CD, roll back to previous one.

4. Right click the CD/DVD drive/Properties/Recording. Make sure that all recording options are "enabled"

5.I have a memory of seeing a problem like this caused by an MS Patch or Hotfix. It was specifically for CD/DVD Burning but I`m afraid I do not know which one it was. Have a look in your downloads and see if you have installed such a patch.
