Removing all Sony software

Hi, I just recently bought the Sony Vaio B1VP and want to get rid of all the Sony software - what's the best way to do this?

All I want to keep is WinXP Pro SP2 and the drivers.

Thanks

Without trying to sound insulting.......

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

I don't think I was clear in my question - I want to get rid of all the Sony software not by uninstalling (as this never really removes all fragments of the software) but rather by installing from the Recovery discs - can I do this without installing all of it?

Btw, do you guys actually delete the recovery partition once its backed up as its currently taking up 7GB of space?

Thanks again

Ok I see. Unless there is an option to install individual programs on the menu when you put the recovery disk in the computer, then no. It's all or nothing. It's an option that is on very few VAIOs.

Many do. Make sure you have several copies of the recovery disks that you made yourself first, and guard them like your grandmother.

On some of the new VAIOs you have choice now, but on the old ones it's all or nothing.

Hi Bro,

I had the same question a while ago, as they nice people here replied to you there is no way doing a recovery of only the OS + drivers, u have to install the software bundle...i know it s~~s but hey that's life.

what you can do is install your own win xp and then install the drivers which you have on c:\drivers,

Enjoy

But only your own copy of XP Home. Sony will not support XP Professional.
