S series battery charging reduces performance

Just wanted to let you guys know about a 'feature' of the S- series VAIOS (s-150/170/S1XP etc)

When charging a battery from low power state up to 85% the cpu takes a massive performance hit. Now I'm talking up to 50% loss of performance in games amongst other things.

Running a static scene in doom3 for example I'm getting 45 frames per sec with AC power and also on battery alone. However, plug the AC cord in to charge up the battery and wallop! 19 frames per sec if you're lucky..

Sony call this a 'feature' of the laptop and not a fault and do not consider it a problem.

Does this also occur with the A series? i'd be delighted to know if any other owners are experiencing the same issue, as a number of other posts on various forums have highlighted this issue also.

It goes to say that my TR 1 and my Toshiba laptop do not exhibit this behaviour...

Wow thats some discovery. I didn't know this happened.
Hopefully others will tell you if this occurs on the A series.
