It takes my Vaio T1 about 10 minutes to bootup. There are not many programmes launching on start-up. The disk has been defragmented and s about 75% full. The slow boot starts immediately and sounds as if the hard disk accessing is very slow. Once booted up the machine seems same speed as always.
Anybody got any ideas?
About 10 mins to boot that is a long ass time dude.I fell sorry for you:smileycry:
The usual solutions come to mind, Spyware checking, running HijackThis and posting the results to their forums, checking MSConfig for problematic startup items and remove things you don't need
Also do a system cleanup, and use a registry cleaner to sort out your system registry, that should help.
Hay feederfan do you like Buck rogers cus i think that song totally rocks dude:smileydancing:
Yeah its awesome, Just a Day rocks too!, Ive seen Feeder live 5 times now and every time they kick ass!
Ye just a day is awsome.
Check Nortons isn't scanning the hard drive on boot up. The real Buck Rogers 30 years over schedule and over budget
Thanks for this helpful advice. I think I have tracked it down to a registry problem. I installed an HP office jet and the software made a real mess. The registry checker found errors with this HP memories disk software. Anybody know any free registry cleaners (I don't want to pay $30 and find this is not the problem).
Are you guys get side tracked with Buck Rogers and the like? Stick to the point people - lets focus!:smileyhappy:
Tune Up Utilities seems to be the favourite (hence Tune-Up-Tony)
