SONY LET US DOWN !!!

The contact integrated in my Vaio, - where you put in the "male" from power supply, - is poor quality and falling apart after 1½ year of daily use and after connecting, its only once in a while it actually load. I still have a ½ years warranty, - but SONY call´s it a fysical damage the warranty don´t cover. Since SONY made the fysical pc as well, they have a responsability for making fysical junk as well.

Another thing is, that the silver metallic painting is worn down from my fingers opening the pc and the white plastic is exposed several places, - and SONY says, - the warranty dont cover.

What can i do, - SONY is wating, - that ill spend a lot of money on a repair, - ill rather by a new, but not from SONY !!!

What you can do at this point is to go to any repair centre that is connected to the SONY service network and have them repair your VAIO. You'll find a list of repair partners in the 'out of warranty' tab of the 'get in touch' section on t.... You can deal with them directly, you don't need to go through VAIO support or any other part of SONY.

If I understand you correctly, your VAIO's DC-input is not working reliably anymore and it has some cosmetic damage and you were told that it's considered physical damage and that makes you angry. The thing is, most of the time, these problems are not due to any kind of defect with the unit, but due to improper treatmet. That can be falling over the power cable once for the DC-in.

Mind you, I have no idea what really happened. Nor will anyone who's taking your call about it. The only thing that can be done remotely is to make sure you are aware that problems like this may result in a chargeable repair. You only find out what's up once a technician has taken the VAIO apart and diagnosed the problem.

The DC-in can be a major problem (expensive) or a minor problem (cheap) depending on the construction of the VAIO model you bought. If the DC-in is a jack that is connected with a cable to the mainboard, it's a cheap repair. If the mainboard needs to be swapped, it's going to be expensive.

I guess that you are a Sony man, -  Stephanius

It is not a cosmetic damage, i can not see the damage and the unit has never been exposed to any kind of miss treatment, - only daily normal use and the DC input is not reliable anymore. I wonder why it is so incredible unthinkable that it could be a defect Sony is responsible for !!??

You dont mention the cheap painting on my VAIO, that are so weak and cheap, so that the paint are worn down and gone after 1 and a half years use, - maybe its more dificult to blame me for that one !?

I am not that angry, just devastated and dissapointed. I just think i bought a pile of cheap VAIO junk and SONY laugh all the way to the bank with my money.
