Hi, the past few months I have noticed our home broadband speed grinding to a halt when using my laptop. EE and BT been out and done all they can. When hubby on his laptop, it is around 17mb speed, until I access through my vaio, hardwired as well as on wifi, then speed fluctuates right down to 1mb! New router didn't fix things and service coming into router was tested and optimised for std broadband. SUse it had to be something about the service at home and tearing my hair out, until I took laptop on holiday to house where we have super fast fibre optic broadband. That ground to a halt too ... common denominator = my Sony vaio laptop! 3 yrs old. on windows 10. Someone said it could be the wifi adaptor. Yet happens when on Ethernet cable too. Any ideas? Thxx.
Hi Lemacleod and welcome.
It sounds like a driver issue. Where did you get the drivers when you installed Windows 10?
Did you follow the Sony upgrade procedure here?
