does anyone know how to get the door cover that goes on the bottom of the memory compartment, i contacted vaio-link they were no help what so ever, theafter sales is s##t, you hold on the phone for half an hour then you get through and they say sorry i cant help you with that we have no part number for that., its about time sony really look at how angry people get with them over silly little things why cant they provide a good support service.
Wow thats going to be hard to find, keep looking on ebay to see if anyone selling for parts
i been on sony USA website they have a parts order service, check this link out http://www.sony.com/accessories . look down the right side of the page. they provide their customers with parts they need, i emailed them with the bit i need and they mailed me back really fast with a part number and price, and it was in stock.what im trying to say is why cant sony in the uk provide a good after sales service like this? i spoke to sonyuk today and they said the only way they can provide the lid cover is by sending the whole unit in, and i will have to pay postage costs of £100, i think the service in the uk is miles behind the rest of the world.
I bet the cover isn't going to cost you a lot from the US either
Real shame the UK doesn't have this service.
Time Sony put us at the top of it's priority list.
i forgot to say its $28 about £16, i cant believe all vaio-link are interested doing is sending in units for repair. its a quick way for them to make money, they wont supply anyone with parts, i think its really bad. there should be some sort of parts order service here there is a demand for it people want the choice. sony wont do it because it means that they have to repair the unit.

i like the machines but not the service we pay over the odds and get a <profanity removed by moderator> service, i will be thinking really hard when i buy another machine,

vaio-link come good in the end, i got through to someone there that wanted to help me he took the case over and managed to order the bottom cover i needed, i couldnt believe it when it arrived. he had trouble allowing them to send it but in the end they did, it came from the repair centre in Belgium.
i was impressed so much how this guy helped me and phoned him back to thank him.
