Hi,
I have a Vaio S2XP with bluetooth inside. Running Windows XP-SP2 (default installation).
The problem is that the bluetooth device driver seems to be the default Windows XP one which does not handle the headset profile (HSP).
I would like to use a bluetooth headset like Sony-Ericsson HBH-610 for internet telephony (skype, MSN, ...) . Does anyone know how to make this happen ?
Does Sony provice another bluetooth driver with enhanced profile support ?
Thanks

As far as I am aware Sony do not provide any further Bluetooth drivers and the XP drivers will not support the headset.
The only alternative that I know of is to use Widcomm Bluetooth stack drivers but as I use a dongle as apposed to built-in I am not sure that this will help you.
Have a look at this article.
Hi Rich,
thanks for the link which is a good one.
The only problem in my case, is that I don't have a dongle and I don't want to add one since my Vaio as bluetooth inside.
This means that Sony should provide a Widcomm stack+software for those Vaio S series. And obviously they don't. Damn it.
Thanks anyway
Fabrice
OR Microsoft or a third-party company should release a headset profile plug-in for the MS BT stack. Since it is made to be extensible, this should be possible. I've searched around, but couldn't find any though.
But indeed it is ridiculous the S2XP and up can't use a BT headset, given the absense of a built-in microphone.

IS SONY READING ?
Do you know if people from sony used to read that forum and do sometime answer ?
Or is it just to let people who bought a Sony regret it and complain together ?
Hey Sony guys ? Is there anyone listening ?
What about an improved Bluetooth stack with headset support ?

They read, they just don't reply
Fine with me, as long as they fix the problem! Or kick Microsoft hard enough to fix it.
Some stuff falls on deaf ears
