do you still have the Sony supplied WinDVD BD installed on your Vaio.?
If so does it launch ok & what version is currently installed.?
To check the version number launch Win DVD BD then right click on the WinDVD BD for Vaio application window, from the list select Set-Up.
In the new Set-Up window select the Information Tab.
