I am unable to get the touchpad working under Win 2K.
Where are the correct drivers (or any drivers for that matter) that are for the touchpad?
Also, if I don't have the external mouse plugged in, I don't have any mouse capiblities.
As far as I am aware your model came with XP installed. If you have downgraded to 2K you will not find any support for drivers on Vaio-link:smileysad:
Win XP drivers are the same as Win 2K drivers because they are based on the same kernal.
Go into the Device Manager, click Mice and Pointing devices.
There should be the Touchpad (as PS2 mouse). Update the driver with your Touchpad driver.
If not start the Harddware assistent and install the touchpad manually.
BTW: isnt there a installing guide at VAIO-Link? VAIO-Link should know how to install the drivers.:smileyraised_eyebrow:

Drivers installed...
Touchpad mouse still doesn't work.
Is the external mouse a PS/2 by any chance?
If it is it will clash with the touchpad drivers. Try removing the external mouse and un-install the PS/2 port pointing device in Device Manager. Shut down, re-boot and let Windows discover the touchpad and install the drivers.
