There are so many posts about this already and i reckon it is a stupid idea.Why would you want to watch films on a 2.2inch screen i don see the point, if anything they should release more skins for it or compatability formore formats.
I think you'll find the next upgrade to the VP will be a new model.
Sony rarely upgrade anything after you've purchased it (unless it's for their benefit), they are a consumer electronic & media company - they want you to buy a new one.
Yes and considering it has been a long long time since they bought out the original update it kinda tells you that they no longer have it at the top of their priority list.The PSP is getting all the attention at the moment as they try to secure its system software from crackers who want to run "homebrew" on their PSP such as emulators or web browsers etc.
It's a shame Sony don't encourage some of this 'modification'. Most of these things make their devices more desirable - not less. It's in the Sony mindset not to share any information - that's what killed the Clie in Europe & the USA.
I have a clie TH55 and i love it, it is a huge dissapoinment that Sony discontinued them in Europe as i believe they were the best PDA's on the market and by far the best looking.I think their price let them down though.

Ok thats fair enough but a 2.2inch screen wouldnt realy give them justice.Im not saying video on it is a bad idea im just saying that it hasnt realy got the kind o screen that i would want to watch a movie on.
