VPCEB2Z0E Cant create recovery Discs - Complaint

Having dealt with Sony Vaio Support yesterday about the problem with my 5 day old Vaio, I now have no alternative but to return the product to the retailer. I spoke with Ahmed Samir, who could not resolve the problem ,but promised a call today at 9am. He asked me to set aside two hours, but no call has been received. This in not an acceptable way to treat customers.

Two calls yesterday were dropped while trying to get through to Sony. I have made a complaint about this individual ads the service, but wonder if Sony has a formal complaints investigation policy.

Welcome to ClubVaio ChJenki97,

Sorry to hear that you are facing problems with your brand new laptop.

Please, Can you describe exactly what is the issue ?

Did you receive an error message number during the process or what exactly happen ?

Maybe we can fix the issue without return the laptop...

Thank you,

When Sony finally did contact me they said it would have to go back for repair, but the operators only follow what they see on screen,

I got five different error messages during the creation of Disc 1  on five different occasions, sometimes the same one more than once

Errror   {1966}     {2048000}

Error verifying the Disc    {0}  203

                                      {0}  704

                                      [0] 104

                                      [1727] 2048000

I think this is a new Model - so wonder if others had this problem too?

Hi Chjenki97,

Nop. I did not see any report regarding this specific issue regarding other VPCEB2Z0E owners.

1) Can you consider to use a new set of DVD discs to create the Recovery Discs ?

2) After the BOOT process, when the VAIO logo appears, press and choose the "Hardware Diagnostics" option. If any error message appears. It's a hardware problem, and you need to send the Vaio to be repaired.

3) After the BOOT process, when the VAIO logo appears, press key to start the Recovery process to bring your laptop to the "Manufacture State". After this "Recovery" process be completed. Once again, try to create the "Recovery Discs".

4) If nothing works... definitely you need to call Sony Vaio assistance to pick up your laptop to be fixed.

Please, keep us informed...

Hi'ya,

Sony told me to do the F10 re-set, but it didn't solve the problem sadly.

I also went out and bought some Sony DVD-R 4.7GB discs - and they didn't work either!

I've reluctantly arranged for it to go back to Sony - very dissapointing for a brand new product, but the retailer is out of stock of this item to replace.

I did wonder if Sony sent me the Recovery Discs, and I did a full recovery from these if that would work, but it seems daft to use discs to create more, but that would rule out a software problem. What do you think?
