Did someone mention in the forum not so long ago that the paint / finish on some of the newer VAIOs comes off easily, particularly where your palms rest?:smileysad:
I do hope not, but if this is true I will try to be as careful as possible. Is there any way to prevent it?
I have taken to removing the 'Designed for Windows XP', 'ATI' and 'Intel Inside' stickers as soon as I get a new VAIO as i find over time they get tatty (where you hands rub against them). Additionally, if they are left on for too long the leave a mark when removed as the rest of the case has either faded or been slightly worn! Neither of which looks particuarly good.
I'd rather get rid of them straight away and have a clean looking VAIO!

I remember Steve P saying that using PDA screen protectors protected the VAIOs body too.

And you are right, the one I removed yesterday has left a mark

tip
if you need to remove the glue that's left, after peeling off a sticker, use an alcohol based deodorant spray on a cloth
works for me
smells nice to

I'm afraid there is'nt much you can do about this long-term damadge!!!Yep, mines there for life - tried to clean it earlier, and the little square is a totally different shade - oh well :smileyrolling_eyes:![]()
I am just concerned to hear that it may happen on some of the newer VAIOs over a much shorter time period.
The same thing happened with my GRX, made a right mess

you could always put a sticker over the mark:smileygrin:
