White screen at startup Vaio VGN-FW11E

Hi

I have sony vaio VGN-FW11E laptop for last 2years, since i bought it (2nd hand) so had no warrenty.

but from start when ever i turn on the computer while its cold it gives whitish screen and i cant see anyhting, i have to wait for it to warm up and then restart and then it works fine. when warm, no matter how many times i restart it it will work fine, but if its cold then it will give same trouble

any solution please ?

Hi,

It looks as the lcd backlight is not working properly.

I recommend you to take your computer to an specialized store and test it with a new lcd.

You also can try connecting to an external lcd, but will be difficult to switch between the lcd´s without the built in one.
