why does it take so long for a dvd to burn

hi, im an owner of the va1 and find the lack of information on it poor.
i have turned to the wonderful world of burning dvd to disc and am very disappointed at the time it takes to do this, normally over an hour.

i then purchased an exrenal 20x burner which is much quicker until i used roxio today. it took 1 whole hour again and the details told me it was burning at 2x instead of the maximum 20x.

is this the ppc thats slow or is there something wrong with with both of my dvd drives?

please help as it is annoying me and am thinking of scrapping this pc for something else.

That does seem a bit long,

I think it could be the app you are using. Why not try Nero or Ashampoo burning studio.

I believe there may be trial versions available for download.
Before installing one though do make a restore point.

Sounds like the media you're using to me, try TDK, Sony, Verbatim or Emtec
