Why does my Vaio VPCEB3J1E now have a solid orange light on the power switch, rather than green?

For some reason, since yesterday the power switch on my Vaio laptop has stayed solid orange, rather than green, even though it seems to be working perfectly otherwise, and is definitely not in sleep mode!  Has anyone else had this problem?  It is not blinking at all, which I would assume would have something to do with the battery. In this case I don't know what to think!

You are right - it is not a normal indication according to the manual.

Sometimes these power issues can be resolved by unplugging from the mains adapter, removing the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds then reassemble and power up.

If this does not work it may be a fault or it may have a secret meaning to Sony.  Either way it is worth phoning Vaio Support to see if there is a simple fix or if it is a fault.
