Camera noises - Xperia X Compact

Hello,

I didn't find another post about it so I just wanted to know if someone also experiences the same problem:

When I open any camera app (normal camera, Snapchat, WhatsApp, etc.), some kind of "noise" comes up and I can feel a very soft vibration. It might sound awkward but the noise is like an old printer (don't know how to describe it better) and it really irritates while holding the phone in my hands.

Does anyone have a similar problem or even a fix for it?

I restarted the phone more than one time and have the latest software update in Germany (Android 7.0; 34.2.A.0.311). The phone is about two months old and it neither touched the floor nor does have any other technical problems.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @juliusgr, welcome to the forums!

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd recommend that you try and reboot your Xperia X Compact to safe mode to see if this behavior  is caused by one or more of your downloaded app as these will be temporary disabled in this mode.

Also if you could test the vibration in your phone using Diagnostics. You can do that if you go to: Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Vibration. Is the vibration stronger or the same here?

Please let me know how it goes!

Hi Emil,

the vibration is working perfectly; the "vibration" caused by the camera is not the same kind and feels a lot weaker...

In safe mode, the problem did not appear at first, but I forgot to add that the problem occured a few hours after the reboot the last time. I will run the phone in safe mode for a longer time now and answer your question later again.

Thank you for your reply!

Hello again,

I ran the phone in safe mode for like 5 hours, the noises didn't appear again.

After I rebooted it, the noises came again after a few hours. It has to be any app causing them - but what kind of app could be able to affect the hardware so much?

I'm afraid its hard for me to say what app may be causing your phone to behave this way. I'd recommend that you make sure all of you apps are updated. You can do so if you go to: Google Play Store > Tap the 3 lines > My apps & games > Update all.

If the behavior still persists I'd recommend that you try to uninstall apps starting with the ones most recently installed.

Let me know how it goes!
