Hello,
My Brother has this phone. He recently changed and forgot the new pattern code he set, and the finger sensor seems to be disabled. There is no Forgot Passcode option. I read about logging in to the phone using the Gmail device manager, but this does not work, I think because his phone is on plane mode. The only screen he can access on the phone is to enter a pattern. I believe he has 11/30 attempts left before the phone resets.
I read something about OTG cables, would this work considering his phone is on the lock screen?
Any advice helpful, thank you.
Darren

Hi @DarrenBilly,
Welcome to the community.
If you are unable to get the device unlocked using the methods uliwooly suggested, then you will need to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Please be aware that this will erase the handset, and without being able to unlock the screen, you won't be able to back up the phone.
An OTG cable is a USB Micro Male to USB Female. It will allow you to plug in a corded mouse into your phone and use a cursor on your screen to control it. You should be able to enter your PIN and navigate your phone.
Connect the USB OTG cable to the phone > connect a mouse to the USB OTG cable > restar the phone > pull down the notification bar > diable airplane mode > enable WiFi > now you should be able to unlock the phone and/or use your google account to unlock the phone.
