Hi, currently using an Xperia X. Its not long had a software update. its currently running Android 7.0. i've no idea if this lollipop, marshmallow etc.
My problem is, whenever i connect headphones to the phone, the volume goes crazy. turns itself up to max when it wants, turns it down to the lowest when it wants. does this on spotify, you tube and the music service within the phone. also, when it feels like it, a google application will opening up asking me to say something to garner some kind of result. this has only happened since software update. i've tried the headphones on a previous phone and the issue does not occur. I've stripped the apps down to the bare minimum that i need. yet this issue still persists. is there another software update due any time soon, that will eradicate this fault?
thanks.
Hey @Chorlton74,
Welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your phone. I'd recommend that you try rebooting your phone to safe mode, are you experiencing the same thing here?
Let me know if there is any change.
hi there, thanks for the reply. i've tried it in safe mode, although spotify doesn't function in safe mode, i've tried the phones own music facility and the same thing occurs although it took 20 minutes or so for it to do so.
i've tried the same headphones on a z1 compact. it does the same thing. have tried my previous headphones on both units and nothing happens. can only assume its a fault in the headphones.
Then it does sound like it is the headphones causing this behavior. Have you tried with a pair of Sony original headphones to see if the phone behaves the same way then? I can only guaranty that our own headsets will be compatible with our phones.
If it works with Sony original headphones it does sound like your current headphones aren't currently compatible your phone. If your headphones come with a app, I would recommend that you make sure that the app is up to date as it may resolve the troubles you've been having.
Let me know how it goes!
apologies for the delay in replying.
turns out the headphones were goosed. returned them for a replacement set of phones. all is well. cheers for your help.
