Hello, I checked my battery usage earlier and almost 50% of power had gone to the MyExperia app. Gps was disabled all that time and I should have the latest software. New phone, I updated everything. I disabled the service now and hopefully that will fix it. Just wanted you to know that there might be a bug somewhere.
Perhaps the app was trying to sync and since you kept GPS off it takes longer to find your location.
Hi @Juhhh, welcome to our community and congratulations on your new Xperia X Performance!
Please keep observing this and see if it happens again, if it does, please get back to us!
If there is anything else we can help you with you are welcome to create a new thread!
Hi @SindreP,
I'm sorry to hear about that.
If you tap on "Phone idle" you can see how long the phone has not been in use since the last full charge. You should also be able to see "Cell standy" and if you tap on that you will see how long the phone has been out of network coverage. If you are in an area with poor coverage the phone will use more battery because it will keep trying to get a 4G/LTE connection, this will cause the battery to run out faster.
Could you please charge the phone to 100% and use it as normal down to about 5-10% and go in to Settings > Battery > Show battery usage and take a few screenshots of this menu and upload here? Then I will be able to help you in the best possible way.
Keep me posted!
Hi. I had to charge it a bit on the way here but as you can see it is mostly the internal processes which uses power.
The last days it has been a bit better than the day I posted this issue, but it's very unusual for me that the phone uses this much power when not used.
It varies a lot how much power it uses and sometimes it is ok, but then suddenly I have battery half a day before it is drained.
Hi again!
On the screenshot I can see that you have charged the device at least twice, for me to be able to give you the best troubleshooting steps I would recommend that you charge it to 100% and use it as normal down to 5%, go back in to Settings > Battery > Show battery usage and take a few screenshots again
This will give a better overview of both the graph and the applications and services that have been in use.
Keep me posted!
Hi. I've done a new reading. Maybe this tells you something.
On my last phone, the Z1 Compact, almost all battery usage was linked to an app of some sort. Facebook, a game, etc.
Strangely on the X Performance it is mostly internal processes which comes up. The strangest part is how much battery the phone uses when not in use... This varies a lot from period to period but still quite a bit at all times.
Hi again!
I'm so sorry about the late reply.
There isn't anything that looks out of place. Your network signal is on weak side (at least in the screenshots that you provided) but if it was changing between networks a lot Cell standby would be higher up in the list.
You are correct, in most cases battery usage is linked to an application or service in the phone.
To rule out that this is caused by the software in your phone, I would recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.
This will delete all data stored on the internal storage so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before doing the repair is advised.
After the repair has been completed it can up to 2-3 days before the battery gets used to how you are using the phone so may not experience any difference at first.
Let me know how it works after a couple of days and once again, I'm really sorry for the late reply.
