My phone has a GREAT TROUBLE!!!

Good evening.

I bought my Sony Xperia X (Lime Gold) in SONY CENTRE @ LOW YAT PLAZA (G), LOT G7 GRD FLOOR LOW YAT PLAZA JALAN 1/77 OFF JALAN BUKIT BINTANG KL, 55100 in June 2016.

However, last two days (28.2.2017) , when I was doing my assessment, I accidentally dropped my Xperia X into the swimming pool. Then, thigns turns out that when I picked out the phone again, the phone screen stuck at the SONY logo and then the whole screen turns black. I tried several times to turn it on but it failed me.

Currently, it creates a lot of troubles to me because Im a student who is doing my degree in Univerisiti Malaysia Sabah. I cant just flied back to East Malaysia and go but to the Sony Centre in Plaza Low Yat directly. Ihave to wait until my semester ends which is probably June of 2017. By that time, only then I can go back to KL.

However, as far as I am concerend, my phone has a warranty of two years provided by the Sony Centre. So what am I supposed to do right now??? I am a fan and lover of Xperia and I definitely have no ideas. Will the Sony help me to fix my phone and even replaced a new one for me?? And the warrranty card is not with me right now. It is placed in my home ( Pahang) . Can I just ask my sister to take pictures on the warranty card as a proof and get it done in Sabah? And If this is allowed..Where can I find SOny Centre in Sabah?

Thank You For Your Concern.

FROM a students who desperately need your help!!!

Sorry to hear about your phone, most probably it got damaged by water. Sadly, most basic warranty plans do NOT cover water damage. I don't know what's in your warranty terms so the best thing that can be done is contacting your Local Support and discuss the situation with them, maybe you can mail the phone to them instead of travelling by yourself.

Best of luck with your phone and your studies.

As I told you, you should contact your local support for a better view of his problem. Read the clauses of your warranty under "Exclusion" to check if water damage is covered or not.

Bear in mind that this is a user-based forum, so we can't actually help you with warranty and maintenance issues, these matters are handled locally by each market's support team.

As far as I can see, no mobile manufacturer will cover any kind of water damage on a phone not marketed as waterproof.
