@IonSv not sure how you got a hold of a demo unit, but mind that demo units, no matter what's the brand, may be limited, with incomplete software and not official/approved/certified OS from Google; It will receive usually no software updates because the hardware may be different from a final revision and so on...
... That may be the issue of installing games from the Play Store but what's exactly the issue you are facing with WiFi?
