Hey, I have a Sony Xperia X F5121 that has recently become very slow at doing simple tasks like browse the Internet using Chrome and in most cases the UI freezes, prompting me to close it. This may have something to do with my memory being in the 90%. For this reason I have decided to do a factory reset but before I do I have tried to back up all my data on my SD and my Google account, using the Manuel Back Up & Restore feature, but keep getting an error that it can't back up my application data on both methods. This is worrying as I like to play games on my phone and have a number of games installed and want to start where I left off when I restore my phone. Is there anyway of fixing the slowness first, if not the back up problem? Thanks.
Hi @Entea, welcome to our forum!
I apologize for the late reply and sorry to hear about your phone.
When the UI freezes, is it the SystemUI application that you have to close down before you can use the phone again? To make sure that this isn't caused by downloaded applications in your phone, try rebooting your phone in safe mode and use the phone for a bit while third party applications aren't loaded and see if you are experience the same behaviour.
Regarding the backup, have you tried creating a backup using Xperia Companion? Do note that this will require a computer. You can also check with the developers of the games that you are playing if the progress in the game is only being stored locally in your device or if this data is also backuped to a cloud.
