How can I block notifications?

I keep getting notifications on my mobile which I don't want how can I delete or block them. I did it on my laptop but can't find how to do it on my phone

Hi @Hiawatha, welcome to our forum!

Do you know which applications you want to block from sending notifications? You can turn off all notifications from an application if you go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all xx apps > find the application and tap on it > turn off "Show notifications".

Below this option, depending on the app, you will have a lot of different notification channels. As an example, Google Play store has about 10-12 different ones and you can turn off the notification that you have available application updates if you press the little square next to "App updates available". It should now be a white square and you will still get all the other notifications from the Google Play store.

You can also press and hold on the notification and choose "Stop notifications", but keep in mind this will only stop the specific notification channel, not the entire app (unless it only has one notification channel).
