Phone randomly powers off when travelling

I bought the Xperia XA1 new last June. It was fine for a few months, then suddenly died and couldn't be restarted by any means. Once repaired by Car Phone Warehouse (possibly with a new battery), it was fine again for a while but then started shutting down randomly. It can be restarted, however, by plugging it into a power source. When it restarts, the date and time are a few weeks behind and it is on about the same battery percentage as before it shut down. I've noticed that it very rarely turns off at home, only about once every three hours within 20 miles or so of home but when I go further afield it may turn off and need to be plugged in to restart every ten minutes. It doesn't turn off if I shake the phone, so movement doesn't seem the culprit. As you can imagine, this is a real nuisance, especially when travelling abroad. Any ideas of what is causing this?
