Camera not working

I recently up dated my Sony z 21 phone and my camera has since stopped working just coming up with an error message... I am not sure whether the update caused the camera to fail or what but any advice you can give would be great!

Try Clearing the camera app data.

How to clear data on apps.
From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the camera app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

Thanks for your help but that still hasn't helped... Still coming up with cameras error and video has stopped working...
Some previous forums have recommended a factory reset bit I really hope I don't have to go that far!

Where are you saving the pictures? 

how about if you remove the SD card > follow phy's advice > report back

I was saving them to the sd card however I tried the previous steps with the card removed but still no luck... It comes up with a message a start up saying video has stopped working then another saying hangouts has stopped working...Then if I tryptophan open it just comes up black with a message saying camera error, other than that I can find out any extra info...

Try repairing it with Sony PC Companion.

Try to repair your phone with PCC, this will fix errors I hope.
