Java for updating Xperia Z software

Try and update to latest software and computer says Java required.

Download latest Jave and install (W7 64 bit operating system)

Retry and update software and guess what.... latest Java required.

Sony sort out this mess.

First uninstall pc companion and reinstall it disabling your antivirus and firewall

If that doesnt work use sony update srvice

Jsta qestions, how are you updating yor software? Via web, PC Companion, or Sony Update Service?

I would assume you are updating via the web. In this case please try updating using these steps instead:

To repair the phone software
1.     Install PC Companion on a Windows PC from Support
2.     Turn on the phone, and connect it to the PC using a USB cable.
3.     In PC Companion, under Support Zone and click Start.
4.     Under Phone Software Update, click Start.

5.     Follow the on-screen instructions.

Am not able to update my software via update center. It shows, 'could not iinstall'. What's the reason?? Pls sort out this mess, it's irritating. I mean you receive a update after this long and then u simply can't update it!!!
