Loose power button?

Hi Guys,

I'm just on my THIRD z5 compact having received two with duff cameras (LHS blur issue). This one seems a bit better, if not quite perfect so I'm happy enough with the camera.

There is one thing I'm not quite happy with, and that is the power button on this one seems slightly loose. I can press it gently at either end and it clicks in by a tiny bit and stays in that location. It doesn't affect the usage of the button and doesn't go into the frame and get stuck as some others have witnessed, but its slightly annoying that it does this see-saw thing. Anyone else experienced this? I'm relucatant to send back this and try a fourth device now that I have one with an ok camera. I didn't notice this on the first two I had so I don't know how common this is.

What do people think? Stand firm and get a 100% device, or accept that the build quality on these is gonna be sub-par and settle for what I've got?

MODS: Please don't move this back to the "blurry camera" thread. Its clearly got nothing to do with it - try reading the post first!

You have 2 options and only you can decide what to do, if you think the phone has hardware issues you SHOULD exchange it, or just live with it.

I had the same issue, (earlier thread Z5 power button sticking) Got the phone replaced by the retailer and all is OK now. I tried quite a few Z5's at different stores and it seemed to be a 50 - 50 thing, some had firm buttons, some were loose and could be made to stick under the phone body. I notice that the Z5 compact has a diferent design with a chrome trim around the button.

Stand firm, get one thats 100% its a beautiful phone, shame to spoil the experience with small quality controll issues. In fairness, both Sony suport and my telco were very helpful and had no problems replacing the unit on the spot.

I also checked it in showroom yesterday and I can confirm that it's power button is not that firm. And that's the condition of display device. So may be I will go with apple now.

I have the same issue!
The power button is a bit inside and is not sticking out the frame now, it is very hard to unlock it!

Sending on warranty, SONY, what is going on with the quality of your Z series now?
First blurry camera, now the button Slightly_frowning_Face
