Radio FM only works if Track ID is open

Hi, I have a Sony Xperia Z2 with Android 4.4.4, radio fm version 4.0, latest track id 4.1.B.0.15. And Google services 7.0.92
The problem is that when I start the radio it can search for stations, but no sound is reproduced by speaker or headphones.
It only starts to work if I go to options and start track ID to find the song reproducing. And if I stop track ID sound stops to.

I doubt Sony can do anything about this, this seems to be an Android issue.

It is indeed, the problem lays whithin OK Google. When you disable OK Google the radio works again.

Something to report to Google/android devs

@uliwooly: You can bet this issue is not a Google/Android problem, but Sony's.

The reasons:

  • Android is working when Google Now is fully activated.
  • Most apps that uses earphones are working when Google Now is fully activated.
  • Only Sony's radio app is not working when Google Now is fully activated.

As a developer, I am almost sure this is due some bad implementation of Sony's radio app software (or even a bug in Sony's Android customization). Probably something is not handling the sharing of resources as it should.

For what? For, after hours of wait and conversation, a lay attendant tell me I should do a factory reset or some other dumb thing? No, thanks. I have no patience for that.

I better spend my time praying for a developer read this topic.

I just do not blame Sony, because most brands also have their bugs. Does not matter what you choose.

But I have to say that my old Nexus 4 does not have any of these "minor" bugs/conflicts/whatever or, at least, they were all handled before I notice them.

Ok google detection comes from the microphone. Which if you plug in the headphones which the radio requires the app can't utilize both the microphone and speakers working so ok google I guess takes priority and works. When you turn on trackid it utilize everything. Not sure if that's correct but that's how Im understanding this problem! Fix is just to turn of ok google on all the time detection.
