I doubt Sony can do anything about this, this seems to be an Android issue.
@uliwooly: You can bet this issue is not a Google/Android problem, but Sony's.
The reasons:
As a developer, I am almost sure this is due some bad implementation of Sony's radio app software (or even a bug in Sony's Android customization). Probably something is not handling the sharing of resources as it should.
For what? For, after hours of wait and conversation, a lay attendant tell me I should do a factory reset or some other dumb thing? No, thanks. I have no patience for that.
I better spend my time praying for a developer read this topic.
I just do not blame Sony, because most brands also have their bugs. Does not matter what you choose.
But I have to say that my old Nexus 4 does not have any of these "minor" bugs/conflicts/whatever or, at least, they were all handled before I notice them.
