Hi! would like to ask, I will go swimming next month and would like to know about sony xperia z2 waterproof and water resistant feature...
Im wondering if I submerge my Z2 underwater, is it OK if the Audio Jack is uncovered/exposed?
Please kindly assist.
Thank you
Hi, thank you for your responses.
Appreciate it.
So to conclude, based on your replies, even if the Audio port do not have cover, meaning the audio jack hole is exposed and submerged in water (not pool, not seawater), phone will still be OK, and no water will get inside.
Hi I checked the link, it says (ibn the second sentence):
This includes... and the headphone jack, if applicable.
So if there is originally no cover for headphone jack, does it mean even if I submerge/expose the audio jack hole underwater, it wouldnt be the entry point for the water?
Please kindly advise.
Thank you.
Yes, that's correct. Provided that all flaps are firmly closed, no dents, cracks, or bends in phone body.
If applicable goes to phones 0older than Z2, as Z1 and Z. Those have flaps on audio jacks too.
Yes, the original Xperia Z had a port cover that went over the headphone jack, so that is why that is mentioned there. But that is something that was improved on in the later models.
Hope that helps.
As mentioned, Z2 can be used in a chlorinated swimming pool. But i do recommend that you check so that there's no salt used. At several places i've been, salt has been added to the pool water and the phone should not be used in salt water.
