File manager not working

Since the system update to 8.0 on my Sony XZ

It is impossible to open the system fie management app. 

Its used for adding photos nd files to texts messages

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have with the device.

Are you please able to supply more information about the problem, what file explorer are you referring to is this a third party application or the Android default?

If you don't mind supplying me the method you use to recreate this fault that would be helpful.

The app that is not working is the original systems files app in the phone .

If you click on it you get a message files has stopped ....Open files again . But itdosent open .

If you wan to add a photo or  file to  a text message iT doesn't work as the files app will not open .

I have forced stopped it  no help . 

There downloaded widget is also missing.

On another thread someone else also reported problems with the built-in file manager.

I cannot advise how to reslove this problem.

What I can advise is to install Total Commander. (it has a very good functionality and is without adds)

I have sorted out the problem with the file app.

The latest version of true caller has its own messagening . It was that stopping files from opening

did you fixed the problem? IIhave the same issue but with all apps which need to read/write data e.g. Email app cannot download and persist attachments. I always get "files has stopped.."

I thought that I had fixed the problem by removing tureccaller .but the problem iscstill three

I fixed the problem by remove and reinstall the App Sophos security.
