pocket mode

Is there a way to prevent accident touches on my xz1 compact when it in the pocket. For the last week my phone sent few voice messages to my friends with the sound of walking it did some changes in Google document and the final and most disappointing it ordered Uber by itself. There is nothong in settings. I tried to install this Pocket mode apk

It adds the settings item called pocket mode but I am not sure that it working. The touch still responds even if I cover proximity sensor with my finger.

Hi @arforge, sorry to hear about this.

These kinds of mishaps can easily be avoided by setting a screen lock on your device. This way the menus in your phone will be unavailable unless the screen lock is entered. For more information on screen locks and how to set one, click here or go to Settings > Lock screen & security.

I hope that helped!

Lock screen will avoid SOME mishaps, but if you look at the post I just started, in which I fail to mention that I have a lock on it, my emergency dialing sometimes butt dials my emergency contacts.

And it's hardly a solution anyway. Between the hardware and software, this should simply not be happening unless we enable a setting.

ScreenLock is enabled on my device. I use pin and fingerprint. I think it happens when I forgetting to lock my device before put it into pocket. Almost every manufacturer has pocket mode that turns off the touchscreen when the device is in a pocket. But I can't find this option in my device.

I see, @arforge.

I am afraid that there is no such mode available in XZ1-series The only thing that i can advise you to do is to have a screen lock set and possibly setting the phone to go into sleep mode after 15-30 seconds. This is done by going to Settings > Display > Sleep.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

I have a question. Do you guys consider enhancement requests such as exactly this?

Great question, @user_2_end_all_users .

I cannot say whether such a feature will be implemented for Xperia phones or not in the future. However, we will continue to listen to customer feedback and evolve the software for Xperia smartphones.

Have a nice day! Slightly_smiling_Face
