Battery not charging properly

Hi,

I'm charging my phone and it has gotten to 75% and not the charging symbol is appearing and then disappearring every couple of seconds. I have restarted the phone, tried charging in both a dock and directly in the mirco usb port but still the same problem. I was going to try a factory reset but hoping to avoid this. It seems to be only happening since the lollipop update. Any suggestions?

I tried it in safe mode and have the same problem except it happens at 71%. Is there a simple way of reinstalling lollipop without a factory reset?

I spoke to support they said repair the update via PC companion, which is basically just a factory reset and reinstall update. It didn't work still stopped charging around 75% he last few times I charged. I was going to try them again today but when I woke up this morning the battery had charged to 100% so don't know what sorted it.
