Forgotten pattern on my lock screen on xperia z3

does anynone know how i can unlock my phone without using the pattern on my lock screen as i've forgotten the pattern.

1. You can reset using this method:

2. You need to perform a software repair using PC Companion if first step fails.

However this has been asked many times, so thread locked.

I have somehow managed to forget my unlock pattern and cant find a way to reset it 

I have logged in to my google play and tried to add an unlock from there, all goes ok but at end it says device is already locked

It just does not give me any other option but the unlock code.

How can i get back in to my device? I'm not worried about data as it is backed up on google anyway

My phone had a cracked  screen and it took me 8 months to repair it. It's now fixed but  I forgot my pattern and I'm not sure if I had MyXperia enabled.

Please help.
