Google Photos problem after 5.1.1

After installing 5.1.1 google photos cant delete pictures from SD card, and have to launch Sony album app to delete photos. This was working just fine before.. Anyone with a good explanation?

New feature in Google photo's you have to open gallery to delete photo's on SD card

seems so, unfortunately.. installed older version, and deleting from google photos works again.. Cant see why they make such a change, would be easier to just do everything within the app..
